HOW TO BEGIN...
Do
you want to start kiting? Our school has planned the best way to learn, which
will allow you to reach your goals as soon as possible, having fun and feeling
safe!
We've
developed 9 years of teaching experience, with qualified and professional
instructors who will follow you step by step during your first experience in the
water. We will provide you with the complete equipment, such as: board, kite, life
jacket, harness, helmet... Getting
here is all you have to worry about!!
At
the end of your course,if you wish, you may ask for your personal patent, according to the level you have reached.
Our
first level course's goal is to enable you to pilot a kite and have your first
experiences in the water. The whole course includes 4 lessons, theory
lessons on-shore and practice lessons directly in the water or on board one of
our boats.
It's possible to attend the course in only 2 days, if you don't have enough time
to stay here with us.
First lesson on shore (in a group): First concept of "aerodynamic":
what
is the wind? How does the kite fly? Why? What's the intensity of the wind? The
direction? What are the main safety rules and prevention. Length of the lesson:1
hour and a half
Second
lesson,
on the boat: the main goal is to learn how to control the kite, safely and
easily, so the kite we use at
this stage is smaller than the one normally used in the water.
On board a boat/platform, we start to pilot our kite learning the meaning of
"flying zone" and "wind window", take-off and
landing of the kite, keeping it in the "neutral zone". Then we start
controlling the kite power levels hooked to the harness we'll be wearing. Once we
build confidence with the kite's power, we will simulate the water start and
the riding technique. The practice sessions will take place in mini-groups of 2/3
people, alternating each other, so that everyone will be followed individually by
the instructor.
Length
of the lesson: 2/3 hours, depending on the number of the students.
Third
lesson,
on shore (in a group): let's learn how to face the water!
Supported by didactical videos, the instructor will show us all the exercices we
will have to do, teaching us how to control our body balance and the board as well.
Then we're going to analyze the equipment, learning how to prepare a kite for
the take off and the quick-release. Length of the lesson:1 our and a half
Last
lesson, in the water: we are finally ready to test the power of the kite
and the fun side of it!! "Body-drag":this is the name of
what we will be doing. Controling our body in the water just using the
power of the kite we are hooked to, is the main goal. Getting to know the main "sailing points" such as down wind, up wind,
and across wind. At the end of it we will be ready to use the
board by amusing exercices of balance and coordination. With our
boats the instructors will follow the students individually. The maximum
number of participants is 3 at the time, in the water
one at a time. Length of the lesson: 2/3 hours depending on the number of students.
The
instructor will decide wheather to begin the course with practice or theory lessons, depending on the weather and wind conditions. Normally,in the
morning, the wind blows roughly from 7.00 am to 10.30 am and in the afternoon
from 2.00 pm to 5/6.00 pm This is the time table of our lessons!
For
this course we charge 280 euros including:the lessons, the equipment needed,
the rescue boat, our work-book, the insurance, plus the annual membership fee
(10 euros for the first year). The students which previously attended the
"test day" will skip the first lesson on board the boat and will be
charged 200 euros plus the membership fee.
